I have not used a Norton product since their software destroyed a PC of mine many years ago, but this is definitely not what a virus protector should be doing.

I used to swear by Norton before it was purchased by I believe Symantec. Haven’t used it since.

I remember the good old norton utilities.
I think symantec antivirus was either bought, or went into some form of partnership, with a big tech like IBM didn’t it? Maybe things moved on since then.
