I wrote this article about the above watch back in February 2020. I love that watch for quite some time, but as is typical of those who love watches times change and I sold it because it was not getting much wear. A small profit was made, but the watch kept entering my mind as one of those that I regretted letting go.
Almost 5 years later, last week, I saw it in a vintage watch shop and I was somewhat determined to reacquaint myself with this particular model. The asking price was ludicrous, but I asked to try it on and proceeded to explain why the asking price was far too high. The usual sales banter came back at me, but that doesn’t work with a watch nerd.
Eventually I bought it at a price I was happy with, it has gone up in value these past 5 years, but it’s back and I am happy. And strangely, the main reason I wanted it was because I had lost it. I won’t let that happen again.
