Bruce Blackburn dies

Bruce Blackburn, a graphic designer whose modern and minimalist logos became ingrained in the nation’s consciousness, including the four bold red letters for NASA known as the “worm” and the 1976 American Revolution Bicentennial star, died on Feb. 1 in Arvada, Colo., near Denver. I love this logo and not just because it is NASA. The design is one of the best every created in my opinion and I asked my daughter why she likes it so much, she owns many tops with NASA printed on them. Surprisingly she said it was purely because of how it looked and not because of the institution itself.
