Why people leave Facebook

With the exception of Google, there has never been a company that has had this many people using its services. In this context, it may seem strange to talk about those who are choosing to leave Facebook. But those who are leaving the platform represent a small, but by no means insignificant, counter current. And many people, perhaps looking to eke back some time from busy lives, are choosing to quit social media as a new year’s resolution… More here.

I rarely visit these days, but I have noticed many people I know have not posted on Facebook for months.

  1. It’s too bad, because when it’s done right it can be a real benefit to community – especially during COVID when people are so isolated.

  2. there’s a lot to be suspicious of, but it’s one of the few forums of dialog I have, especially for family and people I know from real life.
