LG Watch Sport vs. Apple Watch Series 2

LG Watch Sport is one of the first Android Wear 2.0 flagships. The Apple Watch runs on WatchOS 3. One of the biggest differences? The updated Android Wear operating system has an on-watch version of the Google Play Store, meaning you can download apps directly to your watch without going through your paired smartphone. That’s not the case for WatchOS 3, which still requires you to download Apple Watch apps on your iPhone… More at New Atlas.

A really good comparison of the two. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel automatically drawn to a smart watch with a round face over a square one.

  1. Yeah, round is a win (I might have gone for a Pebble for that reason) And I guess cellular connectivity COULD be, if you were willing to pay for it, and it wasn’t too hungry on battery etc (same for “always on” options, wonder what the battery is). But “download apps directly” seems a pretty minor feature.

I wonder which one wins on letting duffer coders make up their own watchface

  2. I have to admit, I like a round face as well. The LG looks nice, but with watches I often find I have to see them life, to get a real feel of their size and thickness etc.

  3. I wore a Casio for many, many years, so round wasn’t an issue. I like my Apple Watch, but it was a gift. I don’t know that I would have paid that much on my own. That said, it is very handy to have my to do list, my calendar, and the weather on my wrist. I do wish it was thinner.
