It’s hard to convey the scope of harassment I’ve experienced in recent weeks. There were death threats, doxing threats, and rape threats. I think of the source in abstraction, as if it’s some moldy monstrosity in its mother’s basement, less person than instinct, so primal, it is almost separate from something that could ever be fully human. Or, in other words, some of those rape threats came through on Christmas Day. Suffice it to say, my various inboxes resemble a Hieronymus Bosch painting Photoshopped full of Pepes. It’s exhausting, and infuriating, and frequently threatens my faith in humanity, but it’s not enough to shut me up.
