From perfection to the ridiculous

I have spent a long time looking for the perfect day to day dress watch that ticked some specific boxes. It needed to be classical designed with a look that only the wearer or an interested observer would notice, and ideally it needed to be from a well respected brand.

The biggest problem is that to fulfil the above it would have to be a vintage model and very few are big enough for my wrist. I first spotted it in my favourite watch shop last December and was very close to buying it. My regrets was complete when I thought it has been sold at auction and so it was with great surprise that I saw it again in the same shop this week.

I was not going to let the chance to buy it go again and traded in another Omega to take away some of the financial hit. Two more watches will be sold to make up the balance and so I now have a vintage Omega that is so amazingly simple, is a decent 37mm in size and, well, I am still working on what else it is. It could be late 1930’s or even 1950’s, but either way this is a BIG watch for those times.

All I can say is that it is just so perfect to wear, so slim and weirdly accurate for a watch of this age. It is a definite keeper.

On a stranger note, the DWC Terra costs the equivalent of £35, it is brand new and is causing quite a stir.

You can see why. It is so unusual and remarkable some have been offered for upwards of £2,000 online because the run was limited. May be worth a punt when the next batch is released purely for the novelty.
