Sometimes your family knows you better than you do yourself, and this seems to be the case with the Omega Genève Dynamic. My son bought it for me as a early Birthday present and I am struggling to take it off at times.
It dates back to 1969, has an unusually shaped case and a unique strap-changing mechanism which has not been repeated since.

The fading of the markers and the stand out second hand make it unique, and while this is a model I have looked at from time to time, I never really thought it would work for me. As it happens it wears perfectly on my 7.5″ wrist even though it is not a big watch and I suspect part of that is because of the integration of the bracelet.

The manual wind movement is classic Omega which means that it will just run and run provided it is looked after. I have three vintage Omegas now and they all work perfectly, keeping good time on a consistent basis and being able to run for many years between services. They are way above the Rolex movements from the vintage years and perfectly encapsulate the word ‘workhorse’.
Anyway, this is not a review as such, but I wanted to mention this watch because it has proved to be surprising, wonderful to wear and a perfect addition to my other old Omegas.

And then I received another Omega (sort of) for my Birthday from my wife, but that one is for another day and it’s not really an Omega.
