It started with the above question and the actual photo posted with it was concerning. The responses, however, perfectly highlight why reddit is almost always a more preferable place than the likes of X etc.

Look for the comment from the dental hygienist and the replies that follow. It gets very strange and very funny quickly, but it typifies reddit to me.

Also, the end result is useful advice which could have a profound impact on the original poster.
