The Amazfit BIP 6 costs £68.99, I got mine for £49 in a sale. That is BUDGET pricing for any smartwatch and you would usually expect a poor performing and cheaply made product for such a price.
Lets do a quick comparison against the Apple Watch Series 10 46mm-
Screen size: Apple 1.81 inch OLED / Amazfit 1.97 inch OLED
Battery life: Apple 18 hours / Amazfit 14 days
And after that it moves towards Apple with ECG monitoring, cellular option and arguably the best fitness and health tracking in the industry.
However, at £429 you are paying a lot for an Apple Watch in 2025 and after a few days with the BIP 6 I couldn’t understand how the extra expense if justifiable.

The strap on the BIP is better than on an Apple Watch, the software (ZEPP) is in my opinion better than the Apple Fitness app and it also integrates with Apple Health.
Crucially, the design and feel of the BIP are excellent. It feels like a MUCH more expensive product than the price it is offered at and is easily comparable to the standard series 10 when on the wrist. I’m almost convinced that the materials used are better.
There are 100’s of watch faces available for the BIP and a variety of apps which are all housed in the ZEPP app that is used for health and fitness tracking. There are similarities to the Apple Watch software which are obviously taken from Apple, but for me this is an advantage because it means that it is very easy to use.
And finally, it does a decent job of tracking and is similar to the Helio strap when the daily stats are studied. GPS is built in and almost all of the tracking you need is there to the point that justifying such a leap in price for the Apple offering is hard.
It has made me think about how long I have been in the Apple bubble and how little I have experienced outside of it. Are Android phones comparable to the iPhone now? Are the other smartwatches and tablets much better value that the Apple Watch and iPad?
Aside from the obvious privacy concerns of Google on a phone and the fact I detest Windows on a laptop, I suspect that my ignorance of anything other than Apple could be a negative. I am happy in the Apple bubble, but I do wonder if I am missing out a little bit…
