There are so many parts of iOS that could do with tweaking to make the experience better and yet they have been ignored in iOS 26. The reference is to market fancy new aesthetics and not to worry about these little annoyances.
I thought for just a few minutes and came up with the following?

The Fitness App. Why does the Fitness app icon not show the current ring progress for Apple Watch users? It seems ridiculous that it does not do that.
Why can you not see the steps you have taken each day without opening the Fitness app and then scrolling down to the data?
Why are there no widgets that are single icon sized? You could view your steps instantly, see stock prices or see more detailed weather etc.

Accessibility. There are multiple Accessibility features that do not work reliably, of which mirroring the Apple Watch is just one. Over multiple iPhone and Apple Watches, it still only connects one in every three or four times.

Apple Watch Faces. We still cannot develop Apple Watch faces and have to use what Apple gives us, or the cludge that is Clockology. I don’t understand the reluctance to do this apart from the arrogance of ‘we know what works’.

Home Screen Customisations. You can create a new icon with a shortcut to any installed app, but you will not get the notification marker. Why? There are many features that allow you to do something, but not complete the solution how you would like it to be.
The list goes on of many small issues that need sorting, but alas we have to live with them year after year. The iPhone is by far the best phone on the market and iOS is by far the most reliable (both my opinion), but these little changes would make a world of difference.
I agree. Now I’m looking for a widget icon that shows my steps.
