Mind bent

TikTok user Beatonthebeeb was able to break down the illusion by taking the cars out of the context of the photo and lining them up next to each other, revealing that they were in fact all the same size. The TikTokker went on to explain that because the cars are positioned on a hill, our brain artificially enlarges the one furthest away, making it look bigger even though it isn’t. As it turns out, they are apparently all the same car… More here.

My head hurts…

  1. I don’t believe it. I did a quick search for cars on a hill and found one that looks very similar. There are cars parked on both sides of the road. I don’t think my mind is adjusting for distance. In fact, the further away the car, the smaller it is. As would be expected.

      1. I just tried that and you’re right. Width, length, and height. Very strange. I mean your thumb and finger are showing the same measure but your eyes are showing different. Now I’ve got to see if I can find a hill like that so I can see if it still applies. Would have been easier if I still lived in Montreal.
