When the workers fight back

Former staff at Brewdog have alleged a “culture of fear” at the beer firm with a “toxic attitude” to junior employees.

In an open letter, signatories said a “significant number” of former staff had “suffered mental illness as a result of working at BrewDog”.

They claimed that the firm was built around a “cult of personality” of founders James Watt and Martin Dickie… More here.

I kind of like it when workers fight back against poor treatment. It is often the case that all of the cards stay with the employers and we are in a time when many companies are changing the way they treat their employees and more specifically how they try to change their conditions of work.

It is a difficult balance for sure because some employees will gladly take the p*ss, but I do sense a change in how people are being treated in the UK and it feels as though it is moving closer to the US system.
