I suppose it depends on the age of the child. I suspect my grandson is a little young. However, this is similar to what I used when I realized that whatever I was using with my son wasn’t working. He was in his early teens at the time. He’s now in his thirties and we have a great relationship. It also works if there’s a disagreement or you’d like to tell your child what to do but they won’t listen to what’s perceived as an order.
