A head-scratching new quiz has challenged gamers to define a variety of well-known words.
Many of these words, such as hapless and bereft, are used in everyday language, while others, including bombastic, aren’t as common.
According to the puzzle creator Avi Blum, only 74% of adults get all of the below right.
So how well can you do? More at The Sun.
Apologies for linking to The Sun, but it is a good quiz. Let us know your results- I got 14.

Also see “Politician”? 🙂
19/21 here. I had more trouble coping with some of the less readable fonts than the words themselves.
21/21 but 2 or so were guesses down from 2 options
and it’s unfortunate you can’t readily go back and review the ones that were almost misses.
I have the lowest score by the looks of it. Opps
I only got 16, so don’t beat yourself up too much, Shaun.
16 here as well. My excuse is that some of those words are English and not Canadian 🙂
My excuse is that some of the definitions don’t seem to have the right shade of meaning for the words they’re tied to.
I got 19.
Frankly,75% seems pretty good!
Shaun,
I scored 14 too… but some of the words aren’t that common, are they?
Very uncommon in fact
