I am going to choose the ‘long’ iPhone Pocket offering which Apple is selling for £219. Yes, that’s just for one sock-like structure with a slit in it. As it’s a sock I will buy 2 to make a pair which leaves me with £438 to spend. That feels like a huge amount of money to spend on 2 bits of cloth when I could buy any of the following for the same money-
The latest iPad is £329 so I would have £109 left over to buy 5 Apple polishing cloths.
The Apple Watch series 11 is £369. Could buy 3 polishing cloths on top.
AirPods Pro for the price of 1 sock! An Apple TV for £70 less than 1 sock! This is getting ridiculous.
A washing machine for £379.
An oven for £249.
A Windows laptop for £399.
A Chromebook for around £220.
A Mazda 3 (2006) with 156,000 miles and an MOT for £450. Yes, a running car, a real car that can take you places. Source: Autotrader.
A 1 year old Newfoundland Cross from Many Tears Rescue for £350. He is called Owen and is gorgeous.
And so the list could go on. Yes, fashion and luxury are expensive, but I believe Apple had gone too far with this accessory.
It’s laughable and despite the fact that any new product could be compared to others and look daft, I don’t believe this new product from Apple needs any help in that regard.
