I have no idea what the iPad is supposed to be and neither does Apple. The device is a combination of contradictions squeezed into hardware that is far more powerful than it needs to be.
The Home Screen is somewhat basic and can still only accommodate a set number of icons.
The availability of apps that take advantage of the iPad screen and specs is minimal. Almost every iPad app is an iPhone app with some design changes to fit the iPad.
It’s like Apple is making software changes every year that add some new features, but they hit a wall every time because the iPad is too constrained by the OS to be a real computer. It is still a big iPhone- always has been and at this rate it always will be.
Apple could offer a ‘Pro’ mode for those who want to use the iPad in a similar way they use their Macs, but alas we are still waiting. Come on Apple, it’s time to drop the minimalism and make the stellar iPad hardware worth paying for.
I thought the new update changed everything. Are you on it?
