First of all, this is not a coated watch, nor is it ceramic. The Chronomètre Furtif has a 42mm by 9.5mm sandblasted tungsten carbide case and bracelet that plays into F.P.Journe’s lineSport collection aesthetic. That means a very round port-hole design with a 9 o’clock bumper (rendered in tantalum like the caseback and bezel rings and the crown) plus the integrated three-link bracelet that drops off from a very flat case profile. Tungsten carbide is made by combining carbon and tungsten at high temperatures for a very strong, very hard material close to that of sapphire… More here.
A stunning design, truly stunning and different enough to make it stand out. It is far from inexpensive though.
Weird how it goes black sometimes.
