Turned off Apple Intelligence and the difference was huge!

My iPhone 15 Pro and iPad Air 4th Gen have been seriously struggling to keep a charge over the past few weeks. No joke, I have been charging my iPhone 3 times and my iPad every lunchtime just to keep up with what I need to do which is unusual for the apps and setup I have had for many a year.

Yesterday I fully turned off Apple Intelligence on both devices and the result was instant.

My iPad had 55% battery after I finished work and my iPhone was at 38% at 5pm. Prior to yesterday I was getting down to 35% by lunchtime on my iPhone and approx 45% on my iPad.

I’m not saying this will work for everyone, but for me the difference has been huge. So, what on earth is Apple Intelligence doing when I am not using it at all? Is it just sitting there consuming power while it waits for me to ask it to create a terrible Image Playground picture? Weird…
