Freedom of speech at all costs?

During his three-day posting binge, Musk has called for UK government officials to be hanged and jailed, demanded the removal of Keir Starmer as UK prime minister, and suggested notorious far-right activist Tommy Robinson be released from prison.

Robinson was jailed after admitting contempt of court last year for continually repeating false claims about a Syrian refugee that led to the refugee and his family receiving death threats. Musk has falsely claimed that Robinson was jailed for “telling the truth” about grooming gangs. Musk is also pushing the narrative that organized child sex abuse is carried out almost exclusively by Muslim men, when a 2020 UK government study found that was not the case… More here.

The first logical instinct is to tell Musk to f*ck off and stop interfering in the politics of another nation. Non-interference is standard in world politics, but here we have him posting ridiculous commentary on a huge platform, that he owns, purely to help get Trump and Musk’s useful idiot, Nigel Farage, in power in the UK.

He is attacking two people in the UK government who have done more for women’s rights than most others, and who have acted with proven ferocity in the specific issue of grooming gangs. He is amplifying falsehoods to millions of more useful idiots, many in the UK, and he is calling for the release of someone who is deservedly imprisoned.

I have never seen such interference from someone with so much influence in another country and the thought of someone like Nigel Farage leading the UK is shivering. He will not lead the UK, the majority see him for who he is and Musk’s millions will only help in the short term at most. The fact he wants to give millions to Farage’s party is in itself outrageous, but this is where we are. People like Farage are trying to fool us into believing that the United States is a better partner than the European Union, it absolutely is not.

And Trump hasn’t even taken office yet. Jesus Christ!

Update: Farage did an interview Sunday morning which made me write the article above and, amazingly, Musk then added this to X- ‘The Reform Party needs a new leader. Farage doesn’t have what it takes.’

Farage had refused to properly condemn him for his earlier comments, but obviously did not do enough to appease the man baby / megalomaniac.

Update again: and then Kier Starmer did a speech basically telling Musk to do one which was followed by some seriously bad politicians jumping on the Musk bandwagon. James O’brien sums it all up neatly below-
