I decided to use the Apple Measure app to measure up before we bought some carpets for our hallway, stairs and lounge. Boy was that a mistake!

The following measurements came back-

Lounge 3.72 x 3.61 metres
Stairs 80cm width
Hallway (top) 2.66 x 1.25 metres

When I then measured with a standard tape measure I got the following-

Lounge 4.0 x 4.14 metres
Stairs 86cm width
Hallway at top 3.0 x 1.30 metres

The variance is far too big for anything serious and I have now learned not to use it again unless where specific measurements do not matter.
