It’s a tantalising starting point, and “La Voiture Noire” is the result – as genuinely awesome a car as we’ve seen in years, not least because the Bugatti collector who commissioned it has paid £12 million for it. Spoiler alert: this makes it the most expensive new car ever. It uses the Chiron as its basis, so under its extensively reworked rear-end you’ll find an 8.0-litre, quad-turbocharged, 16-cylinder, with a power output close to 1500bhp.
