The speculation around the iPhone 8 has reached the point where Apple needs to do something big and different to get close to expectations this time around. However, messing with the home button is a huge gamble, but likely one that is needed at this stage.

My, I love the physical home button, and remember when people talked about how “centering” it is, “go back to start”, akin to clicking the site name at the top left corner of a page deep in a website.
