Charging for tuition is illegal in Finland

I checket the above and it appears to be true- “The Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture says: “Charging tuition in basic education is prohibited by the Finnish constitution.” … This doesn’t mean all forms of paid-for education, including private tuition, are banned. But no-one can charge for mainstream schooling that leads to a formal qualification.”

This makes all of the sense in the world, but can you imagine the UK and US every even considering such a thing?
